On November 6th at 7:00 PM, something special is unfolding at the GUM Cinema. The TheatreHD Opera Club is in for a treat! Join a team of special "research associates" (the stellar cast featuring Asmik Grigorian, Joshua Guerrero, Roberto Tagliavini, and Dmitry Ulyanov) under the artistic direction of Kirill Serebrennikov for a unique experiment. Together, we'll delve into the fascinating history of costume and step into the shoes and robes of iconic opera characters!
Our expert guide on this sartorial and musical journey will be Natalia Surnina, a renowned musicologist and the Press Secretary of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic.

Get ready for the next feature in the TheatreHD Opera Club – Giuseppe Verdi's grand drama Don Carlo, in Kirill Serebrennikov's celebrated production from the Vienna State Opera, starring the truly regal Asmik Grigorian.
In a brilliant directorial move, the opera's world is reimagined within a scientific research institute dedicated to the history of costume, weaving together past and present. The characters literally step into their roles by exploring and trying on historical garments, immersing themselves in the motives of their legendary prototypes.The beloved opera star and incredible actress, Asmik Grigorian, makes her debut as Elisabeth de Valois—the very character who becomes the catalyst for the drama unfolding within the institute's walls. From the conductor's podium, Maestro Philippe Jordan, who has captivated Viennese audiences with his profound interpretation of Verdi.
The premiere of this Don Carlo at the Vienna State Opera certainly got people talking, and it's exactly this kind of thought-provoking production that the TheatreHD Opera Club adores—the kind that gives you plenty to discuss, debate, and form your own opinion about.
